Interdependence Within Endangered Animal Species and Endangered Plant Species

Most people may not be aware of it but plants as well suffer the threats of endangerment or extinction. Plants extinction is caused by unwanted human activities such as the destruction of rain forests, habitats and continuous cutting down of plants and trees. Road construction or off road traffic as well as mining are also caused by their extinction. Mining and use of other chemicals and pesticides as well contribute in plant endangerment.

Endangered plants are greatly related in the extinction of some animals. Animals face endangerment or extinction when they lose the essential factors they need for survival such as food and habitat. Herbivore animals or animals who particularly feed in plants are the most affected with the extinction of some plant species. In addition to these, those animal species who shelter in certain plants suffer threats of extinction together with the extinction of that particular plant specie.

For instance, there is a tendency for Mule Deers to be greatly affected by the gradual disappearance of the Arizona Cliffrose since they serve as their food. This type of plant is a member of the Rosaceae family or the family of blackberry, rose and hawthorn plants. The Arizona Cliffrose can be found in limestone lakebed deposits. The petals of Arizona Cliffrose are yellow and whit in color and their leaves are color grey. This type of plant is included in the endangered species list since they are affected or damaged immensely by road constructions, pesticide usage, off road vehicle traffic and mining.

Generally, endangered plant species can also cause the endangerment of other species particularly animals. This simply shows the existence and importance of interdependence in nature. Everything is connected or related with each other and the disappearance of particular specie may cause the disappearance or extinction of another. The importance of taking good care for each and every species in nature is thus essential in order to preserve life in general.
